Kaitaia to Auckland – Day 3

We started early to cover the other sightseeing places on our way back to Auckland from Kaitaia.

Our first destination was Karikari peninsula. The place is famous for its beach, camping site, and walking tracks. The sandy beach just looks beautiful and was a quiet site (perhaps for the time we went there) :).

We headed to Mangonui which is famous for fishing and water activities. The place has local shops, eating corners, cafes, shopping stalls, information centre, and heritage buildings.

It was lovely spending some time there and enjoy while capturing some engaging moments. The Hokianga harbour

The Hokianga harbour nearby is a must visit beautiful paradise for visitors to appreciate natural landscape with golden sand dunes and the shoreline.

Next spot was Waipoua Forest which is famous for giant Kauri trees and multiple tramping tracks. The most famous is Tāne Mahuta Walk which is 5 minutes walk while you have ample space roadside to park your car and see majestic Tāne Mahuta, New Zealand’s largest living kauri tree. It is estimated to be 2300 years old and known as “Lord of the forest”.

We reached Dargaville by evening where we had some rest and coffee after exploring places around.

It was our last stopover before reaching home in Auckland. Our awesome three-day journey ended here. NZ is a beautiful place to cover and uncover its scenic spots.

More to explore soon!
